Consumer Inflation Cools in October

Consumer Inflation Cools in October

Consumer inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was unchanged in October after the 0.4% increase in September. Falling energy and shelter costs were a few segments within the data that helped to push the headline number lower. When stripping out volatile food and energy, the so-called Core rate also fell both monthly and annually.

The takeaway... if inflation continues to ease, home loan rates could continue to move lower as well.
